Portland's Rose Festival
This spring I had this crazy vivid memory of me and my family loading up and heading down to the water front during Rose Festival. We would always spend forever in the large white tent filled with hundreds of vendors selling everything from silver jewelry to spray painted cowboy hats. Yes, it may be a bit trashy, but it was fun! I decided it had been way too long since I had gone, so I recruited my mother to take a little trip down memory lane with me.
What we found was a bit of a let down. The giant tent was gone! In its place was a small tent with maybe 6 vendors who were mostly just there to advertise, not to sell us highly useful things like a giant button with our faces on it. :( We were totally bummed. We did walk the length of the fair to take in the rest of the sights, and at least that part was as we had remembered it.
We did get our shopping fix though. We just popped over to Saturday Market instead, and while it might not have matched the memory exactly, it was still a good day out with my mom. AND it was something I could cross off my 33 before 33 list!
