Copyright and Education
The subject of copyright and education seems to be a tricky one. There are fairly strict rules that are to be followed within the classroom when someone's work (music, film, text) is to be used. Do you think that in the context of a classroom and in the pursuit of knowledge and learning that copyright should apply? Please feel free to share any thoughts you have surrounding this topic, thanks!

I definitely think that copyright rules should be less strict when it comes to the classroom, but I can see a few reasons why they are in place. Say someone creates something in class (a song, a film, news article) that ends up getting used outside of the classroom- purposely or not. If copyright rules were not in place for education, then copyright laws outside of the classroom would now be broken. Obviously college students, and even most high school students, should be aware of where their work ends up and how it is used, but even students in middle school use the internet now. If they are really proud of their work and post it in a blog or some social networking site, do they now face the consequences of breaking copyright laws?
